Abstract

ABSTRACT

The practice-based research method is grounded in lived experiences, employing a hermeneutic phenomenological approach. This approach has the capability to interpret visuals and is also applied in textual interpretation. This article aims to clarify the conceptual framework in employing the hermeneutic phenomenological approach in practice-based research. This study focuses on two main components—visual interpretation and textual interpretation. Conceptually, this comparison is discussed within the framework of practical research to gain an understanding for analysis. This article contributes to the development of practice-based research methods, which have become a preferred approach, particularly at the postgraduate level.
