ABSTRACT
Malaysian artists nowadays often use recycled materials in the production of visual artworks. The purpose is to make the community aware of the importance of protecting the environment. This study was conducted to investigate artists who use recycled materials in the production of their work. Through this study, the researcher can identify the materials used and know the function of the materials in the work. The methods used in the investigation of this work are observation, interviews, journals, books, articles, and so on. The findings from this study found that the researcher has used the theory of art criticism from Edmund Burke Feldman (1994) in the interpretation of the work. There are three works selected in this investigation by three artists in Malaysia. Studies like this should be done for documentation and to raise awareness among the community about the importance of protecting the environment. As such, artists have used this initiative as a field for producing works that consist of recycled materials. It is hoped that the production of works like this can be continued by future generations to preserve the green earth.
